The Tractor That Made Them ‘Put Up Their Dukes’
Tractor Zoom goes deep in this blog over a new product introduction that maddened both the Case and the IH loyalists almost 4 decades ago.
Late Bob Vermeer Honored in Pella, Iowa
Vermeer Corp. honored the memory of the late Bob Vermeer, who passed away in August 2022, by planting an oak tree on the lawn of the Founders' House and donating a park bench in uptown Pella. We enjoyed interviewing Bob — along with Mary, Jason & Mindi — for this How We Did It podcast series in the original Vermeer home a few years ago. Bob's voice and leadership lives on in this special audio collection.
Looking Back: Business Acumen, Technology Forever Changed Equipment Sales & Service
In this blog written by Brian R. Carpenter, General Manager, Champlain Valley Equipment, Middlebury VT. he writes, "The most significant impact of this time has been technology. Today, our customers shop used pieces with dealers across the country due to the world wide web. Our customers can multi-task while planting or harvesting due to auto-guidance and other precision technology proliferation. The cell phone has made us accessible nearly 24/7. And everyone has access to more information than they can process."
Online Fraud with Equipment & Parts has Reached a Whole New Level
In this video, Neil Messick with Messick’s Farm Equipment runs through advice for customers to avoid fraud. In a New Holland equipment group, he recently saw someone asking for help in tracking down a broom for his New Holland MC22 front mower. Very quickly there were several accounts claiming to have one of these rare attachments. These accounts were attempting to take the conversation to a private forum, where they would take payment despite not having the attachment to sell.
Farmer & Precision Specialist Team Up on Road to Autonomy
Learn all about Brady Fahlman’s autonomy blueprint, and how precision specialist Kelly Degelman is helping him get there in this Successful Farming article by Alex Gray. “Autonomy interests me because it’s the pinnacle of optimization and efficiency, but it can also be the opposite of that if you’re not ready for it,” Degelman tells Gray. “Not every farm is ready, but I’ve built a road map in a sense. Start with the basics, make sure everyone understands what we’re doing and why we manage things the way we do. Then you can move forward.”
