The most recent USDA crop progress report shows nearly all corn in the U.S. (95%) has emerged as of the week ended June 14, 2020, well above the 74% emerged this time last year and the 5 year average of 92%. North Carolina became the first state to report 100% of its corn emerged.

Corn condition dropped slightly in the week. The report showed 56% of corn in "good" condition, down from 60% reported in "good" condition in the previous week. A total of 15% of corn was reported in "excellent" condition, unchanged from the previous week.

Soybean planting is nearly complete, with 93% of the U.S. crop reported planted, up from 72% in the same week last year and above the 5 year average of 88%. Nebraska became the first state to plant 100% of its soybeans this week.

Soybean emergence is at 81%, well ahead of last year's 49% emerged and the 5 year average of 75%. Minnesota led the charge with 98% of its soybeans emerged. Soybean crop conditions were unchanged from last week, with 60% reported in "good" condition and 12% reported in "excellent" condition.
