Industry Outlook: How Does Your Dealership Stack Up?
The John Deere Pavilion is proud to host its 10th annual Learn & Play Day on Saturday, July 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This popular event welcomes kids of all ages to spend the day playing and learning about the work of John Deere customers. At this free event, children will learn about life on a farm, see what it’s like to work on a construction site, explore the world of forestry and more. This is the John Deere Pavilion’s largest event of the year and it grows in popularity each summer. “With 10 years under our belt, we’ve been able to establish a very exciting and fun day and we look forward to celebrating it with our guests,” said Brigitte Tapscott, manager, John Deere Attractions & Tours. “Learn & Play Day is all about keeping kids entertained while they learn, and we have activities both inside and outside our facility to occupy the whole family.” For hands-on fun, kids can test their driving skills in a battery-powered Gator™ obstacle course or put their muscles to work in a pedal-powered tractor pull. Other special exhibits include a petting zoo, a construction zone to test toy equipment in sand and an innovation station where kids are inspired to build equipment and buildings out of Mega Blocks. Kids who complete all the “chores” in Little Johnny’s Farm, including milking a cow (not a real one), will receive a “Deere Dollar” they can cash in for a special treat. Blacksmith demonstrations will also be conducted on site throughout the day. A variety of informational booths from ag-related organizations including the Rock Island Farm Bureau, Rock Island 4H & Extension, Midwest Dairy Association and Country Corner will also be featured. The John Deere Pavilion’s Learn & Play Day is open to the public and is free of charge. The John Deere Pavilion is located at 1400 River Drive in Moline.
