ST. NAZIANZ, Wis., May 29, 2013 — Miller-St. Nazianz, Inc. (herein Miller) is pleased to announce a $4.5 million expansion of their production facility following an office-wide remodeling project.
Due to strong North American and international demand for its crop application equipment, investment in a major facilities expansion is necessary to maintain its growth trajectory. Miller worked closely with the Wisconsin DNR to obtain the necessary permits and will soon break ground on a 60,000 square foot addition to its manufacturing facility.
“Our planned expansion is intended to provide numerous improvements, including doubling the capacity of one of three core product lines and enhancing overall product flow through the factory,” according to John W. Miller, President and CEO. “In addition to the increased building footprint, the expansion includes adding a paint booth and plasma cutter, as well as new, more efficient receiving docks and an inbound inventory processing area.” The addition is targeted to be complete by December 1, 2013.
“This additional space further allows for the doubling of our R&D Department, where all our products are put through a rigorous validation process prior to release to the marketplace,” Miller explained. The major investment in the R&D department comes on the heels of the completion of a new 3,100 square foot state-of-the-art Technology Center as well as a complete renovation of the head offices.
Investment in its facilities will allow Miller to leverage the 30% increase in employment it has realized over the last 18 months. Most of these jobs are skilled manufacturing and R&D Department positions.
