WAKEFIELD, Va. — Hoober a farm equipment dealer with locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, recently announced that Lee Pope III has been named the Store and Sales Manager at the dealership’s Wakefield location.
In his role, Pope will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of store operations work together to provide excellent customer service and product support, as well as providing leadership for the sales staff.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the farmers, customers and Hoober staff,” said Pope. “I think we’re positioned to help farmers, customers and Hoober continue to grow and thrive. It all starts with supporting our customers and I like that Hoober believes in going above and beyond to satisfy the customer.”
A native of Waverly, VA, Pope graduated from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA and attended Chowan University. Prior to joining Hoober, Pope was the Quality Control Manager for the Kevlar division with DuPont in Charleston, South Carolina. Pope worked for DuPont for 19 years in the Kevlar and Nomex businesses in a variety of capacities.
“We’re very excited to have Lee on the Hoober team,” said Don Mikes, president of Hoober, Inc. “He has a strong management and organizational background and has the same commitment to putting the customer first that our dealership has always had. Lee’s roots in the local agricultural community are also a big plus.”
For Pope, the family-owned dealership’s people and reputation were key factors in his decision to join Hoober, Inc.
“I knew some of the Hoober employees and customers and just hearing all the good things customers had to say about Hoober made an impression,” said Pope. “Then meeting the team here at Wakefield as well as folks at other locations made me feel even better about joining the organization.”
Pope lives in Disputanta, VA with his wife and three children and he enjoys sports and hunting.
