According to USDA’s Nov. 19 crop progress report, only 10% of corn acres and 4% of soybean acres were yet to be harvested.
With 90% of corn in the bin, this year’s progress remains 6% behind last year and 5% short of the 5 year average for this date. Of the major corn producing states, Indiana is lagging the most with only 87% harvested, followed by Minnesota with 90% of corn in the bin.
At 96% harvested, the soybean pace is only slightly behind last year’s 98% and the 5 year average of 97% out of the field. Indiana is also lagging here with 92% harvested as of Sunday, while 100% of the soybean crop in Illinois and 98% in Iowa is finished.
