KIOTI Tractor kicked off the year with impressive fundraising efforts for UNC Children’s Promise through a special auction during key industry tradeshows. The winners, Charles Greer of Chugiak, AK and Melissa Landers of Glasgow, KY each won a 2015 Pink MECHRON 2240 Utility Vehicle during the National Farm Machinery Show and the World Ag Expo.
“I was very surprised to hear that I had won the silent auction,” says Landers. “When my husband and I realized that the proceeds of the auction go toward helping critically ill children and their families, it solidified our reason to place a bid.”
Combined, the two tradeshows raised more than $25,000. All of the proceeds will be donated to UNC Children’s Promise, the fundraising arm of the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Donations help the hospital provide comprehensive care to children in North Carolina regardless of the family’s ability to pay. They maintain a family focused environment while providing state of the art care, and continue cutting edge research that assures new discoveries for treating childhood diseases.
“We’re so thankful for the generosity of the Greer and Landers families who allow us to give to such a deserving charity,” says Jun Sik Kim, chairman, Daedong-USA, Inc. and vice chairman, Daedong Industrial Co., Ltd. “The Pink auctions are an annual tradition, and we at KIOTI are thrilled to continue our support of these organizations.”
KIOTI Tractor started the Pink UTV Auctions in 2012 and this is the second year that UNC Children’s Promise has been the beneficiary of their philanthropic efforts. For more details on KIOTI Tractor and its efforts to support cancer research and awareness visit www.kioti.com.
