For the last 2 planting seasons, in North America Laforge has offered its Dynatrac Classic
system that replaces the 2-point drawbar on a pull-type planter or strip-till rig. During
Agritechnica, the company introduced the 3-point version of the same concept — the
Dynatrac Premium system. It handles both pull-type and 3-point mounted equipment on
tractors up to about 200 horsepower, says Lars Paulson. The Dynatrac Ultima is PTO
compatible and handles tractors up to 400 horsepower.
Trimble debuted its new GFX 750 display and Nav 900 receiver at Agritechnica 2017. The system marks a change for the company, with a redesigned architecture where GNSS receiver and the inertial measurement system are on top of the tractor cab in a mobile design.
At Agritechnica 2017, Topcon Agriculture launched its new Topcon Agriculture Platform
(TAP), which is designed as a comprehensive precision solution, incorporating FMIS, fleet
management and image processing.
The new Tempo L high speed planter from Väderstad features optional dry fertilizer tank and
updated row units to include small seed closing wheels to help close seed trench and provide
consistent seed to soil contact.
A look at the prototype of the medal-winning AGCO Xaver autonomous seeding unit at Agritechnica 2017. The system is programmable, and 12 units are the equivalent of one, 8-row planter. Ten units can plant about 2.5 acres per hour and they will be field tested in 2018, with production tentatively planned for 2020.
