Deere Company (NYSE: DE) has completed its purchase of Bauer Built Manufacturing Inc. In early September, Deere announced its agreement to purchase certain assets of the Paton, Iowa manufacturer. Financial terms were not disclosed. Deere said the purchase expands its portfolio of agricultural equipment, accelerates the growth of its planter business globally, and enhances the opportunity to serve larger farms in key markets around the world. Since 2002, Bauer had manufactured co-branded planters for John Deere under a design and manufacturing partnership. Deere said it will continue manufacturing the 44- to 120- foot ultra-wide DB Series planters at the Paton facility, which employs approximately 150 people. Deere Company is a world leader in providing advanced products and services and is committed to the success of customers whose work is linked to the land - those who cultivate, harvest, transform, enrich and build upon the land to meet the world's dramatically increasing need for food, fuel, shelter and infrastructure.
