In a recent interview with Todd Bachman, CEO of soon-to-be 7-store Kubota dealership Florida Coast Equipment, Bachman explains that the dealership's consolidation has been driven in part by new mindsets that millennials bring to the ag equipment business.
He specifically points out their stronger belief in a work-life balance, meaning they are less likely to drive long distances to the dealership and spend greater amounts of time in the store. In response, Bachman believes the industry needs to meet this new generation of customers where they are: closer to their homes. And to him, this means adding more locations and increasing the number of stores within his territory to provide the best coverage.
