According to the most recent USDA crop progress report, some 26% of corn crops were reported silking as of the week ended July 11, in line with the 26% reported silking in the same week last year. The 5-year average for corn silking in the week was 30%.
Some 3% of corn crops were reported in the dough stage, in line with the percentage of corn crops in the dough stage last year and the 5-year average.
Around 51% of corn crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 14% in "excellent" condition and 27% in "fair condition."
The report stated 46% of soybeans were blooming in the same week, in line the 46% reported blooming in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybean blooming in this week was 40%.
Some 10% of soybeans were reportedly setting pods, in line with the 10% reported setting pods in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans setting pods in this week was 10%.
Some 49% of soybean crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 10% in "excellent" condition and 30% in "fair condition."
