MILWAUKEE, Wis. — July 2019 saw decreases in U.S. sales of combines and 4WD tractors as well as total U.S. 2WD tractor sales compared to July 2018, according to the latest data from the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
U.S. 4WD tractor sales decreased 4.7% in July compared to last year and U.S. July combine decreased 25.9%. Total U.S. sales of 2WD tractors in July decreased 0.1% compared to July last year: under 40 horsepower 2WD tractors decreased 0.6%, while sales of 40-100 horsepower tractors grew 4%, and sales of 100-plus horsepower tractors declined 9.8%.
For Canada, January 4WD tractor sales were negative (down 32%) and combine sales decreased 43.8%. July 2WD tractor sales in Canada were down in all size categories (–11.1% for under 40 HP, –10.8% for 40-100 HP and –15% for 100-plus HP).
