CNH Industrial revealed the New Holland T4 Electric Power – the industry’s first all-electric light utility tractor prototype with autonomous features – at its Tech Day in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
France-based robotics company VitiBot presents Bakus, an electric autonomous tractor designed for work in vineyards. Four wheel drive and four wheel steering allow for increased maneuverability as well as a remote control functionality via a phone app means that Bakus can handle the delicate work necessary in running a vineyard. Currently available in Europe and being introduced to the Californian market, VitiBot also accepts direct sales for interested dealers.
Ag technology company Swarm Farm Robotics discuss how their experiences on Australian farms helped inform the decision making when developing their robots. Having grown to more than one million acres using their robots, the company is looking to expand their operations outside of Australia. Their integrated autonomous equipment revolves around using a base robot platform which is then customized for the needs of that farm by partnering with third party manufacturers.
California based robotics company Farm-NG introduces their mini-tractor the Amiga. This all-electric piece of equipment is modular which allows for added customization. Presented as an alternative to rudimentary manual labor, the Amiga is a light-weight solution compared to a small cultivating tractor. Ideal for smaller operations where seeding, planting, cultivation and harvest labor can be the bottleneck of productivity.
GUSS Automation details their autonomous vehicles in the GUSS lineup including the Orchard GUSS and the new Mini GUSS. The Mini GUSS helps expand the coverage of the Orchard GUSS by allowing a smaller frame and more maneuverability allowing it to run in tighter operations such as vineyards. The Orchard GUSS is also being used as a template for the upcoming Herbicide GUSS, an autonomous spraying unit.
Naïo Technologies seeks to level the playing field with their new ORIO ag robot. Each unit comes complete with 100% electric, autonomy and built-in RTK GPS which allows smaller scale operations to enjoy the capabilities of their larger counterparts. Naïo Technologies hopes that ORIO will be the tip of the spear in introducing robotics and artificial intelligence into the changing ag industry.
