Designed as an easily transportable wing-fold planter with horsepower requirements lowered to 115, the PL5500 was among several new models on display at 2018 Great Plains Ag National Dealer Meeting in Des Moines, Iowa. As described by Jake Riffel, Engineering Manager for the Planter Product Line, the 8-row PL5500 is equipped with 4mm offset opener blades, 1.6 or 3 bushel hoppers and a 9’9” transport width for maneuverability.

Zircotec to Help Develop Low Carbon Heavy Vehicle Technologies

Zircotec is part of a consortium of major UK Automotive suppliers to be awarded funding through the Advanced Propulsion Centre to develop viable and cost-effective gas-fueled off-highway vehicle technologies. The consortium’s focus is to improve the performance, autonomy and efficiency of a low carbon agricultural tractor concept using an engine fueled by natural gas or bio-gas instead of diesel.
