Case IH Dealer Titan Machinery, along with other North Dakota Case IH dealers, is now partnering with the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., to educate, train and provide hands-on internships to students in a two-year diesel technology program. Case IH dealers are sponsoring students and the degree program.

The program is limited to 24 students, and focuses on Case IH agricultural equipment and technology as students earn an associate degree in diesel technology-Case IH. The first students will be enrolled fall 2013.

On-campus training covers powertrains, hydraulics, advanced farming systems and electronics. Training takes place at NDSCS’s state-of-the-art diesel technician training facilities, which is one of the largest of its types in the U.S. Students receive technical training on Case IH equipment and related products through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory experiences. They also benefit from tuition assistance and technician toolkits.

“This program will benefit our growers and our dealership through well-trained technicians, and help provide great job opportunities right here,” said Tom Hausmann, dealer principal. “We’re sponsoring internships for these students at our dealership to reinforce on-campus training and give students real-life shop service practices.”

The program’s components also address green technology through changes in emission standards and alternative fuels that will continue to advance changes in this industry.

The Case IH program takes five semesters or approximately 20 months to complete. Students may register at NDSCS, but should make arrangements with their local Case IH dealers to arrange scholarships and secure their internships as part of the program.
