Sydenstricker Implement Co. celebrated 69 years as a family owned and operated business with the grand opening of its new facility in Mexico, Mo., in January. More than 2,000 people attended the event.
Eddie Sydenstricker, president of the 10-store John Deere dealer group, says the dealership’s need for a more modern and efficient facility to better serve customer needs was long overdue. The new facility is over 58,000 square feet. The service department covers 28,249 square feet; the parts department is now 7,737 square feet; and the new retail area is 8,810 square feet.
According to Kim Sydenstricker, one of the most unique features of the new facility is its state-of-the-art training center, which is used for both employee and manufacturer training programs. “Employees are able to interact with the John Deere Co. personnel and other dealers throughout North America. Also, Sydenstricker offers customers on-site training for all their John Deere FarmSight and AMS programs.”
Construction of the facility started in 2008 and was completed in 2012. “Through the entire construction process Sydenstricker’s continued to serve their customers as the new building was constructed over the old facility,” Kim says.
