With a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Iowa State University, Mowrey has over 28 years of sales experience and joins GKN Wheels after 16 years with Parker Hannifin Corp. as a national distribution sales manager.
He comments: “My experience lies in distribution development and sales, so assessing GKN Wheels’ opportunities to expand its distributorship agreements and sales channels will form a huge part of my role.
“I’m also particularly looking forward to using my knowledge in this area to work closely with our operations team to help provide timely, pro-active, customer-focused solutions — something for which GKN Wheels is renowned for worldwide.
“This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the company — we have a number of new initiatives in the pipeline for 2013 and an exceptionally strong offering thanks to our ongoing investment in our research and testing facilities.”
GKN Wheels has operations in Armstrong and Estherville, Iowa and Wichita, Kan., as well as the North American Technical Center in Woodridge, Ill., where industry-leading wheel performance tests are performed using the latest computer-aided technology.
In 2011, GKN Armstrong strengthened its manufacturing base in Armstrong, Iowa, by bringing its hubs and spindles production under one roof. In addition to improving efficiency, the move has already begun delivering real benefits for the customers that prefer to purchase hubs, spindles and wheels from the same source. Part of a worldwide engineering company, GKN Wheels’ operation in the US is one of five global manufacturing centres.
The manufacturer has been making wheels and customized hubs and spindles for off-highway machinery in the U.S. for more than thirty years. With clients including leading name original equipment manufacturers and distributors, GKN Wheels is one of North America’s leading suppliers of wheels and wheel components for agricultural and construction machinery.
