Officials from West Fargo-based Titan Machinery broke ground Tuesday on a new $5.5 million to $6 million facility in southwest Jamestown.
Titan, founded in 1980, is a full-service Case IH Agriculture and New Holland Agriculture dealer providing sales, parts and service to 98 North American locations and 10 European dealerships, according to its website.
Titan Machinery has been hampered by a lack of space at its current location near Business Loop West, said Tom Hausmann, manager for Titan Machinery of Jamestown.
“We’ve been looking to grow for some time now, as we’ve felt a little bottlenecked where we currently are,” Hausmann said. “The new facility is going to allow us to sell more and grow the store as a whole.”
The facility will have two parts: a 55,000-square-foot parts, exposition and showroom, and a 22,000-square-foot storage area. It will be on a 20-acre lot west of Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
The project, which is expected to be finished by June or July 2013, is being completed by C.I. Construction of Alexandria, Minn.
Titan Machinery of Jamestown has 32 full-time employees and anywhere from three to six part-time employees, Hausmann said. He said the new facility will add another 35 workers when it opens, with hopes for more if business goes well.
