Four awards for business-to-business magazine editorial excellence were recently presented to Lessiter Publications editors. Sponsored by the American Society of Business Press Editors, the Azbee Awards of Excellence program is recognized as one of the most competitive nationwide award programs for business publications.
Newsletter Excellence
No-Till Farmer was recognized with a Gold award in the “Newsletter General Excellence” category, the highest award presented to any business-to-business newsletter. Editors Darrell Bruggink, John Dobberstein and Frank Lessiter were recognized for outstanding excellence in producing this publication.
The bronze award went to Ag Equipment Intelligence, led by Editor Dave Kanicki. This semi-monthly newsletter reports and analyzes the latest business issues affecting the farm equipment industry.
Staff Written Column
Farm Equipment Editor Mike Lessiter earned a Silver award for two submissions in the “Staff Written Column” category. In “Ethics: You Still Out There?” he discussed the growing concern over ethics and its importance to success. In “Vision is the Game-Changer for Tomorrow’s Dealer,” Lessiter shed light on the significant transformations taking place within farm equipment dealerships.
American Farriers Journal Managing Editor Pat Tearney received a bronze award for two columns. In “Summit Speaker Decision Based On Core Principles,” he explained the logic behind the choice of speakers for the magazine’s International Hoof-Care Summit. In “An Open Mind: A Mightier Weapon Than A Silver Bullet,” Tearney addressed the need for an open-minded equine industry and the dismissal of the one-solution-fixes-all notion surrounding the costly laminitis disease in horses.
