Sergio Marchionne, chairman of Italy's Fiat Industrial (FI.MI), said the company has committed to increase the investment of its CNH Global NV (CNH) subsidiary in Argentina to a total of US$200 million, La Repubblica reported in its Wednesday Internet edition.

The announcement follows a meeting in Buenos Aires this week between Marchionne and Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.

In April of 2011, CNH announced plans to spend US$100 million establishing a local manufacturing site at Cordoba for the production of combines and tractors for the Latin American market.
