Buhler Industries Inc (TSX: BUI) today unveiled the new line of Farm King augers built at the manufacturing facility in Salem, SD. The company acquired the assets of Feterl Manufacturing Corp. in early 2010, supported by a low interest loan provided by the South Dakota Economic Development Corporation. In addition to Executive staff of Buhler Industries, South Dakota Governor M. Michael Rounds and City of Salem Mayor Ken Scott participated in the grand opening.
“This is an exciting day,” says Dmitry Lyubimov, President of Buhler Industries. “We are realizing the potential that this factory offers, and the community has responded very positively since the facility re-opened in February. There will be many economic benefits for the City of Salem and the surrounding area including further job creation. The State of South Dakota has been supportive throughout the entire process.”
The company announced today that the augers built in Salem will be available in two color schemes; Farm King red and the well-known Feterl white. In addition to the Farm King logo, all Salem-built augers will carry a ‘Feterl Original’ brand.
“After we announced the acquisition of the Feterl facility we received many calls from dealers and farmers to encourage us to continue offering the augers in white,” Lyubimov continues. “We are proud to be the exclusive supplier of Feterl-built augers and genuine Feterl parts, and will continue the tradition of durability the owners of both Farm King and Feterl augers have come to expect.”
More than 20 jobs have been created at the Salem facility since the acquisition by Buhler Industries, and year-round auger production and research and development is expected to demand further staff additions in the coming months.
