AGCO Corp. has announced that Lang Diesel Inc. will now provide sales, parts and service for AGCO’s Challenger, RoGator and TerraGator lines of agricultural equipment.

AGCO (NYSE: AGCO), which is headquartered in Duluth, Ga., has a branch in Hesston and employs about 1,400 people there.

Lang Diesel Inc. is headquartered in Hays and has six other locations in Kansas.

“We’ve done business with the Lang Diesel team through the years with other AGCO brands, and will be working closely with them on this effort to ensure a smooth transition to Challenger, RoGator and TerraGator,” Alistair McLelland, vice president of distribution development for AGCO North America, said in a written statement.

Lang Diesel will continue to provide sales and service on other AGCO brands, including Massey Ferguson and Sunflower.

The company also represents AGCO Tractors. AGCO has announced plans to phase out its tractor line by 2012.

AGCO’s Hesston facility was recently awarded $6.5 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Kansas Bioscience Authority to help develop new agricultural equipment for use in the biofuel industry.
