Goodyear Farm Tires, a Titan Tire Corporation brand, has introduced DT 930TM 1100/45R46 tires, designed with a low sidewall (LSW) aspect ratio for stability to move equipment through the field, no matter how wet the conditions. The tire will be displayed at Titan’s booth at the National Farm Machinery Show February 10-13 in Louisville, Kentucky.
“The DT 930 tires proved themselves this fall in the wet fields of Illinois,” said Titan Chairman and CEO Maurice M. Taylor Jr. “The wide, deep lugs provide excellent flotation, which enables the user to harvest his crops with combines equipped with DT 930 1100/45R46 tires. These tires were able to power through muddy fields that narrower dualed tires could not.”
The DT 930 provides high torque transmission and reduces compaction in the field, while its low sidewall design provides stability on side slopes. The tire is agriculture’s largest radial, standing at 85 inches tall and almost four feet wide, and is designed to reduce vehicle bounce, loping and power hop. When the 1100 tire is mounted to a large 46-inch Titan wheel, tire-to-rim slippage is minimized. These tires have been approved by equipment manufacturer AGCO for use on its Challenger brand tractors.
Flotation can be maximized when dualed on four-wheel drive and mechanical front wheel drive tractors. DT 930 tires with appropriately sized wheels can be used in place of narrower dual rear tractor tires.
