Mahindra USA announced that Mani Iyer has been appointed president of Mahindra USA, Inc.
Iyer will replace Anirban Ghosh, who has been president of Mahindra USA since June 2007. Ghosh will assume new responsibilities in the Mahindra Group.
Iyer will also assume Anirban's seat on the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' board of directors.
Iyer joined M&M in July 1990 and was assigned to Mahindra USA in October 1998. For the last couple of years, he's been responsible for Sales at Mahindra USA, and in May 2008 he was promoted to vice president of sales.
"Mani is well-known and respected for his intimate knowledge of the product, sales, and service and the business relationships developed with our dealers and suppliers. His passion for the Mahindra brand, tractor business and Mahindra values will enable him to provide leadership to Mahindra USA for growing the business," says Deepak Chibba, executive vice president of international operations for the farm equipment sector at M&M Ltd.
Ghosh returns to Mumbai, India to serve as vice president of business planning for the farm equipment sector of M&M Ltd.
"In his two year assignment at Mahindra USA, Anirban has led the company through a period of change and a challenging economic and industry downturn. There were significant improvements in supply chain and customer service, a first-ever National Dealer Meeting…and our brand building and customer-centricity initiatives were recognized through an 2008 independent NAEDA survey," Chibba says.
