New Holland Unveils Vintage Boomer 8N Compact Tractor

New Holland has introduced the Boomer 8N, a compact tractor that combines vintage design with modern, innovative amenities.

The latest addition to the company's Boomer line, the redesigned 8N features distinctive styling, a CVT that creates a fun, car-like driving experience, as well as a variety of customizable accessories.

Some dealers believe the tractor is going to create a lot of showroom traffic.

"In these tough economic times, anything to get the customer in the showroom and create traffic is exciting," says Walter B. Green from New Albany Tractor Co. in New Albany, Ind. Green saw the tractor at a farm show in Louisville.

"Since we're a New Holland dealer, we're most excited about the nostalgic look of the new tractor," he adds. "Even if customers don't buy it, they'll be talking about with their friends. By getting floor traffic, they might see something else that interests them and purchase that trimmer, chainsaw or another compact tractor."

First sold in 1948, this updated version of the classic 8N is available to consumers seeking reliable power wrapped in a compact and time-honored package, the company says.

Whatever the job requires - whether loading mulch, mowing the lawn, clearing a pasture or digging a trench - the Boomer 8N makes it fun, easy and comfortable for serious rural lifestylers or hobby farmers.

Key features include a red chassis, gray hood, and the ability to make the Boomer 8N your own through chrome accessories, canopies, decals and other items. The tractor has chrome exhaust and grab handles, upgraded control knobs, diamond-plated floor boards chromed steps, as well as a 50-hp engine with a 2,800-pound, 3-point lift capacity.

The 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated diesel engine has large cubic-inch displacement for added durability. The 8N, which will be available to consumers nationwide beginning this month, is the 11th model in the Boomer compact tractor line.
