Bourgault Industries is proud to announce the release of Bourgault Intelligent Control (BiC). A tremendous technological leap for the pioneering agricultural equipment company, this innovative seed controller is fully wireless within the tractor cab. BiC combines simplicity and intuitiveness along with advanced features, options, and integration with OEM tractor monitor controls. Introduced to dealers at the Bourgault Seeds for Success event in Phoenix, AZ, Bourgault Intelligent Control promises to be a pivotal technology change for Bourgault Industries, its dealership group, as well as its customers.
Designed with simplicity at its forefront, Bourgault Intelligent Control (BiC) has been in development for 5 years by the R & D team at Bourgault’s research facility in Saskatoon, SK. The BiC system itself has been utilized by co-operators to seed successfully tens, and tens of thousands of acres over the past three seasons. Known internally as “Team BiC”, the engineers at Bourgault’s R&D facility conceptualized, designed, and developed all aspects of the innovative seed controlling system. “Team BiC” built the ECU’s and harnessing, designed and programmed the firmware, software, and user interface. BiC was also developed to have fully integrated compatibility with OEM tractor monitor’s task controllers, which was a key requirement for many customers.
With an extremely intuitive user interface as well as easy to understand language on all controls, the BiC system was clearly designed with simplicity at the forefront. Virtually all settings, options, and information are available on a single screen, making it quick and easy to confirm proper operation during seeding as well as to change settings such as lifting the drill or changing packing pressure.
Combined with the OEM tractor monitor’s task controller, the BiC system also includes all features and options Bourgault’s customers have come to know and trust. Features such as Dyna-Cal (Bourgault’s industry-only continuous on-the-go calibration monitoring system), Packmaster (consistent packing regardless of field conditions), and AccuSet (on-the-go depth adjustment integrated into the BiC system) all function with BiC. With the integration of the tractor task controller, features such as Auto-Sectional Control, Variable Rate mapping, and Coverage Sharing will also be available.
Data management is also enhanced with BiC when combined with the tractor’s telematics system. When combined with an advanced tractor task controller, seeding data and control can be live-streamed to John Deere Operations Center and Case New Holland’s Field Ops. Customers can now seamlessly move and store data without the need for USB sticks.
When asked who the target market for this BiC integrated system would be, Rush explained “customers who want a wireless tablet combined with the advanced options Bourgault currently provides will be looking at utilizing BiC. Coupling this with a newer tractor monitor’s task controller and this is a huge productivity gain for Bourgault customers especially if logistics, operations monitoring, and data management is important to their farming operation.”
“With the Bourgault R & D team’s ability to make required changes to the software in real time, we become extremely responsive to any changes needed. With what we’re developing for the future, this is just the beginning. Bourgault is no longer just an equipment company. Bourgault is now a technology company.”
Bourgault will start offering Bourgault Intelligent Control (BiC) in limited availability for model year 2026 orders.
