The Impact of the Baltimore Bridge Collapse on Tractor Manufacturers
Tractor Mike breaks down the significance of the Port of Baltimore on the farm equipment industry. While dealers in the western United States may experience minimal impact due to their reliance on ports like Tacoma, Oakland, or Los Angeles, those in the Midwest and East are likely to feel the brunt of the disruption. Tractor companies heavily reliant on imports from Asia, such as Kubota, Mahindra, Kioti, TYM, Yanmar, and LS, typically utilize west coast ports or the Houston/Galveston area for unloading equipment. However, even they are not immune to the ripple effects of the Baltimore port closure.
Greenway Equipment Sales Celebrates 30 years
Greenway Equipment Sales is celebrating thirty years as a family-owned business. The Smith family bought the business in Ellsworth, Maine, in 1994 selling their signature John Deere products. Then, they opened a store in Bangor which has since moved just over the town line into Hermon.
UK Pub Creates ‘First’ Tractor Parking Space
A rural pub in Tideswell, Derbyshire, UK has taken a step forward for the farming community by creating the “first tractor parking space” in the world. The Anchor Inn, which is operated by Rick Ellison since 2016, focuses on fresh local produce with a farm-to-fork ethos. The new parking addition highlights this involvement for the farming community.
