What Farmers Want From You
During the 8th Annual Precision Farming Dealer Summit held this week in St. Louis, farmers Keith Wendte and Jim Leverich, share what they need from their precision dealers. This year’s Summit drew a sold out crowd of 201 dealers attendees, coming from 70 different dealerships.
WATCH: The First "All-in-One" NEXAT in North America
The massive “all-in-one” machine by NEXAT handles every work step in production agriculture, including soil cultivation, sowing, crop protection and harvesting. In the video below, YouTube's Ag with Emma takes a look at the first NEXAT system in North America as it wraps up corn harvest.
Record Farm Income 2022 — What It Means & What You Should Do
U.S. net farm income set a record in 2022, up 14% from 2021 to $160.5 billion. To put it mildly, things in Ag are good financially speaking. 2022’s farm income number is double what it was just 3 years ago during the China - U.S. trade spat. What does this mean for those of us who earn our living in Agriculture? Will expenses rise by more than income (2023 will be the most expensive crop ever planted)? Will the good times keep rolling or are we about to be blind sided? And what should we in Ag be doing now to capitalize on the positive financial situation while managing for the next downturn? Paul Neiffer, The Farm Accountant, and Chris Barron with Ag View Solutions address all this and more with Damian Mason and the Business of Agriculture.
Former Precision Dealer Tim Norris Named ‘Outstanding No-Till Farmer’
At the December Ohio No-Till Council Conference, Norris was recognized for his new title earned through his work with his successful blend of no-till, cover crops and technology on his Knox County farm. Norris found Ag Info Tech in 2004, a precision ag dealer focused on helping customers be more efficient, accurate and profitable through reliable technology products and service. He sold the last portion of the business in early 2019. Norris has been a speaker at both the Precision Farming Dealer Summit and Dealerships Minds Summit.
Communicating Wait Times to Customers Through Youtube
Giving the bad news of long wait times on new equipment deliveries has become a regular occurrence in the industry. One dealer — Chris Huckabone with Ontario Kubota dealer Huckabones Equipment — took a direct approach in a recent video on their Youtube channel. Huckabone cycles through the dealership's various product offerings, highlighting the wait times they get from Kubota and which products customers could get quickly.
Product of the Week: Black Eagle Ag Solutions Strip-Till Unit
Drawing upon years of strip-till experience, Black Eagle Ag Solutions has developed their new strip-till unit which debuted at the 2022 Farm Progress Show. Designed with the farmer's needs in mind, this strip-tillage unit hopes to innovate on the existing market row units by including air adjustable row cleaners accessible from the cab and making setting the machine as easy as possible.
