According to a report from The Hawk Eye, CNHI has announced it will move production of bulldozers and headers at its Burlington, Iowa, plant to not-yet disclosed facilities outside the U.S. The Burlington facility will maintain its production of backhoes, tractor loaders and rough terrain forklifts.
"This move is intended to optimize our global manufacturing operations," the company said in a statement to the Hawk Eye. "Upon completion, the manufacturing process in Burlington will become more streamlined and the facility will be transformed into a North American Manufacturing Center of Excellence for backhoes, tractor loaders and rough terrain forklifts."
The report that "specifics of the production change have yet to be determined" as CNHI is currently in the process of decisional bargaining with United Workers Local 807, which represents hourly employees at the Burlington, Iowa, plant.
