Concord's Precision Shank Drill has cutting coulters, precision placement openers, disk levelers and a wide pneumatic packer tire that are all mounted to an independent linkage. This linkage removes depth control issues of the rigid frame shank unit while retaining all of the agronomic benefits of the ground-engaging components listed above. The Drill’s disc levelers ensure that soil from the shank is placed back in front of the packer tire regardless of operating speed, ensuring seed depth is consistent across the field.
The Precision Shank Drill was developed with an edge-on shank design, allowing existing openers developed through years of challenging conditions to adapt to the individual linkage. Most of these openers allow for proper nutrient placement at the time of seeding, achieving the 4 R’s of a nutrient program (right place, right time, right source, and right rate).
Shank pressure and packing pressure are operator controlled from the cab. Adjustments to the disc leveler and down pressure allow the producer to design the field finish they desire. The depth of seed placement is easily accomplished with reliable, accurate colored depth stops located on the machine.
