FRANKLIN, Ind. — The doors of the new Koenig Equipment facility in Franklin, Ind., opened to the public on March 3, 2021. The full-service John Deere agriculture, lawn & garden and compact construction dealership relocated from Earlywood Drive to Sloan Drive off US Route 31.
CEO Aaron Koenig attributes the expansion to support the Franklin community long into the future. “Our new Franklin facility is the largest capital expenditure in the 117-year history of Koenig Equipment.” This investment celebrates Koenig Equipment’s 20th year operating a dealership in Indiana. With deep roots in agriculture, “the Franklin Chamber is pleased that Koenig Equipment has invested in our community,” says Franklin Chamber of Commerce Director, Rosie Chambers.
The modernized 25,000-square-foot facility, conveniently located at 1280 Sloan Drive off US Route 31 in Franklin, Indiana, is the eleventh major project that design-build contractor, Ferguson Construction Company, has done for Koenig. “Both the exterior and interior design has been tweaked from project to project to continuously improve customer experience and employee efficiency, while maintaining a consistent corporate image,” says Ferguson’s Managing Architect, Joe McGovern.
Koenig explains the facility “is designed and built with employee safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in mind to ensure maximum value and convenience for customers.” Through the strategic layout of products and staff work areas, the sales floor is positioned for immediate customer engagement. The facility also features a large service shop with the initiative to add more technicians to the team. Central service counters and more than 3,000 square-feet of parts storage make Koenig’s goal of timely parts and service a reality.
An open house event to welcome the community to the new facility will take place in June. Koenig Equipment is excited to offer more services with the larger facility and looks forward to future opportunities. The investment won’t stop here, as Koenig says, “this is the first of several facility and dealership investments across the state of Indiana over the next decade.”
More details and photos of Koenig's Franklin, Ind, facility will be featured in the April/May issue of Farm Equipment.
