Sinclair Tractor was started by Bob Sinclair and his father Moe in 1998. Moe had been looking at a machinery dealership investment and needed someone to help run it. At the time, Bob and his wife were living in Dayton, Ohio, but had been wanting to get back home to rural Iowa.
Sinclair Tractor got its start operating out of a temporary facility at the county fair grounds. After a few months there, the dealership moved into its current facility on the north side of Sigourney, Iowa, which had been an old manufacturing complex.
With no prior experience in the farm equipment business, the first couple of years were rocky, but the family’s persistence and hard work paid off. Today, Sinclair Tractor has 13 locations as well as 3 NAPA auto parts stores.
