The Santa Rosa Press Gazette reports Coastal Machinery will host an open house on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the dealership in Pensacola, Fla.

Coastal Machinery has provided landscaping, construction and farm equipment to Escambia and Santa Rosa counties for 32 years.

Its formula for success?

Well, for one thing, there’s a large client base. Coastal caters to everyone from the hobby farmer to the contractor, to a municipality, sales manager Chris Dixon said. A typical customer, Dixon said, has at least 2 acres of land while the business offers gas and diesel landscaping equipment such as walk-behind and zero-turn mowers, utility vehicles, small and large farm tractors, compact and large construction equipment.

Joe Meeks, the company’s president, said customers can count on friendly service from a locally owned dealership.

Meeks, his family’s third generation in the tractor business, said he enjoys working with people to help make them fruitful, “watching them grow and succeed. “… It’s a pleasure to sell the highest-quality moving and farming equipment,” he said. “… Friends and family are the best salesmen.”

Coastal is a certified Kubota service dealer, with eight bays to keep service work moving. The business also has field service trucks to work on equipment too large to bring to the service center.

Meeks said it’s not unusual to see million-dollar John Deere combines out in a farmer’s field, then see Kubota utility vehicles and other equipment in the carport.

The Friday open house event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6701 Mobile Highway in Pensacola.

And what’s next?

Well, Dixon said the company is “trying to break into bigger markets up in Jay (with) hay tools, hay cutters and utility vehicles.”
