The National Weather Service issued its final report for 2015 this week, revealing that 2015 was both one of the warmest and wettest ever during the past 121 years.
According to the report, the average temperature of the lower 48 U.S. states averaged 54.4 F, making 2015 the second warmest in history. Only 2012 was warmer. Precipitation averaged 34.5 inches in 2015, ranking it the third wettest year on record behind 1973 and 1983.
