USDA estimates that 80% of corn had been harvested as of last Sunday. This is up 15% from the previous week and equals the 5-year average. According to Colvin & Co., of the top 5 corn producing states, Indiana and Iowa are the only states behind their 5-year average by 9% and 1%, respectively.
Soybean harvest is estimated at 90% complete, up 7% from last week, and only 1% behind the 5-year average. Minnesota and Nebraska have the most harvested at 99% and 98% respectively of the 5 largest soybean growing states,
Winter wheat planting progress was at 93% this week, a 3% increase from last week and even with the 5-year average. Winter wheat emergence was reported at 83%, a 6% increase from last week and 4% ahead of the 5-year average.
Year-over-year corn prices are down 15%, soybeans are down 21.5%, and wheat is down 20%.
