Butler Ag Equipment, a division of Butler Machinery, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Henkens Equipment of Chadron, Neb., effective January 2, 2015. The acquisition includes the purchase of the Henkens Equipment facility in Chadron, along with new AGCO wholegoods and parts. Both companies, with the support of AGCO, will work closely over the next several months to ensure a seamless transition for Henkens customers.

Edwin Henkens started Henkens Equipment in 1927. He and his family operated the business until 1995, at which time Jim and Marsha Mapes purchased the business.

The acquisition of Henkens Equipment will serve as Butler Ag Equipment’s third full service location in the state of Nebraska and strengthens their commitment to the state’s agricultural equipment market. Butler Ag Equipment also has full-service facilities in Fremont and Pickrell, along with a parts facility in Kearney.
