September 12, 2014 — Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) President Dennis J. Slater welcomed news that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation issued a clarifying rule allowing implements of husbandry (IoH) with rubber tracks to operate on roads.

“AEM applauds WisDOT for working with manufacturers and users of tracked vehicles – which includes an increasing number of Wisconsin farmers – to go about their business,” Slater said. “We were proud to help work to ensure that Wisconsin regulations don’t unfairly burden equipment manufacturers and farmers.”

Slater added: “This sensible outcome helps to preserve our state’s economic vitality while preserving the safety and maintenance of our roads.  AEM is actively working with Senator Petrowski and Representative Ripp on IoH legislation in Wisconsin and looks forward to working with DOTs across the country as Congress considers future road construction funding for states.”
