New Holland’s hardworking 70- to 98-PTO horesepower T4 Series utility tractors now offer the convenience of the new 24x24 Dual Command transmission and 40x40 Dual Command creeper transmission options.
“The Dual Command transmission provides an easy-to-use Hi-Lo transmission option for smoothly shifting gears without the need to depress the clutch pedal. As a result, operators can work with less fatigue,” says Michael Cornman, Dairy and Livestock marketing segment leader. “The smart Dual Command features, when combined with all the standard comfort features and ergonomics of the VisionView cab, can make a big difference in a long work day.”
Dual Command Transmissions Provide Quick Shifting
The 24x24 Dual Command transmission features a Hi-Lo full load power shift. Activated on the move, the gearshift lever provides quick shifting to reduce operator fatigue and increase productivity. It allows for Hi-Lo speeds in each of the four gears using push buttons on the side of the lever. A PowerClutch button on the backside of the lever permits shifting between gears without having to use a foot to clutch.
The 40x40 Dual Command creeper transmission provides these same Hi-Lo and PowerClutch features at speeds as slow as 0.15 mph. A simple lever on the left-hand side console of the cab shifts the transmission into and out of the creeper gears.
Advanced Features Enhance Efficiency
The Dual Command transmissions come with an electrohydraulic shuttle lever designed to enhance efficiency. When shuttled forward or backward, this lever conveniently returns to the central rest position, allowing for quick and easy direction changes. To put the tractor in neutral, simply press the button on the end of the lever. Additionally, the shuttle lever has different aggressiveness settings so the operator can tailor the tractor forward/reverse transition to the job at hand.
Comfort and Smart Control Placement
Comfort and smart control placement come standard on all T4 tractors, whether equipped with the features of the deluxe VisionVie cab or a ROPS platform.
All ROPS tractors with the Dual Command transmissions feature the wide open flat deck platform, mechanical draft control, comfortable seating, smart storage spaces and deluxe configuration option with the addition of an electronic rear differential lock switch on the Command Arc console.
The VisionView cab on T4 Dual Command tractors is equipped with the following additional features:
- The steering column has both tilt and telescopic adjustments to provide enhanced comfort
while operating.
- The Command Arc console incorporates easy-to-reach electronic switches for engagement
of the 4WD and rear differential lock engagement as well as New Holland’s
ergonomic EDC mouse with fast link lower button and depth adjustment slider.
- On the outside, rear fender-mounted PTO and hitch switches are incorporated for easier implement hookups.

“The comfort and convenience of the T4 Series is well-suited to producers requiring a highly productive, mid-range utility tractor and the addition of the Dual Command transmission makes it even more so,” says Cornman.
