The check represented the donation for Fisher House Foundation accrued from New Holland’s 2013 True Blue Salute program. New Holland will continue the tradition of honoring military heroes during its 2014 True Blue Salute. From Memorial Day, May 26, 2014, and continuing through the celebration of Independence Day on July 5, 2014, New Holland will again make charitable donations to the Fisher House Foundation and extend a special equipment offer to active, reserve and retired military, first responders, and their immediate family members. Since January 2012, New Holland has raised over $1.2 million for the Fisher House Foundation through True Blue Salute programs.

During the 2014 True Blue Salute, New Holland is also inviting everyone to show their appreciation to our nation’s heroes by tweeting a “thank you” at #truebluesalute or posting a “thank you” on the New Holland Facebook page. For each “thank you” tweeted or posted, New Holland will donate $1, up to $10,000, to Fisher House Foundation.

Donations to Fisher House Foundation can also be made by texting 'salute’ to 20222. By doing so, a one-time donation of $5.00 will be added to your mobile phone bill or deducted from your prepaid balance. Message and data rates may apply.*

Fisher House Foundation is best known for a network of comfort homes located at military and VA hospitalswhere military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. It offers a “home away from home” place for families, and is built through donations to the foundation.

There are currently 64 Fisher Houses located on 23 military installations and 24 VA medical centers, with many others under construction or design. Each Fisher House features a common kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious dining room and an inviting living room with library and toys for children.

The Milwaukee VA’s Fisher House, the first in Wisconsin, will be located just northwest of Lake Wheeler and will be within walking distance of the medical center. The 13,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in the summer of 2015 and will offer 16 suites, all professionally furnished and decorated.
