"The size of corn heads today is scary," says Marion Calmer, CEO of Calmer Corn Heads. "But these guys are packing enough money and acres that it just doesn't bother them to order a corn head that's $200,000, run it for 3 years and then turn around and buy another one. It's worth it to a farmer running 4,000 acres to lay down a quarter-million to harvest a $4 million crop."

"They need the reliability and will gladly pay for a corn head that gives them good speeds, chops the stalks and can eliminate the additional pass of the shredder, tractor, labor and fuel," he says.
