Farm Equipment
Future-Planned Facilities
For the 2017 Farm Progress Show held in Decatur, Ill., Farm Equipment sent 10 staffers to scope out booths and interview manufacturers to find the latest new product innovations and advancements.
Montag’s display at Farm Progress focused on the just-announced joint marketing agreement between Montag and Hagie Mfg. that marked Montag’s entrance into the fast-growing cover crop business with its new Fortifier line. The pairing of Montag’s Gen 2 dry delivery system (introduced to the strip-till market last year) to Hagie’s 90- and 120-foot boom systems allows growers to seed cover crops into standing corn. Montag’s Brian Johnson notes that the system includes twin bin design with 150 cubic feet of capacity, 4 section control, a pair of boost fans to give it maximum flow, dual ISOBUS scales and Montag’s dry rate controller. Montag has a separate contract program in place for its dealers that also carry Hagie.
